It was in the year 1998 that China’s first independent car maker was born. Geely Cars had started their history as a maker of refrigerator and motorcycle parts, before eventually acquiring minivan manufacturer’s license and graduating to the automobile industry. After making motorcycles for a few years, they began making their first cars.

Geely also has trade agreements in Russia, South East Asia, Western Europe, the United States, and other territories. Geely was successfully listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in early May 2005.
