Geely Cars: first independent car maker in china (Apr 29)
It was in the year 1998 that China’s first independent car maker was born. Geely Cars had started their history as a maker of refrigerator and motorcycle parts, before eventually acquiring minivan manufacturer’s license and graduating to the automobile industry. After making motorcycles for a few years, they began making their first cars.
Geely is known for being a highly ambitious company. Ever since the company was founded, their primary goal was to do business internationally. They officially launched their car campaign in July of 2002 with 20 million RMB. They were granted a license to import and export, and began exporting their first products in the year 2003. By the end of 2005, they were regularly exporting their cars to Africa, South America, Central America, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East. Geely also has trade agreements in Russia, South East Asia, Western Europe, the United States, and other territories. Geely was successfully listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in early May 2005.
In China and abroad, Geely is known for providing high quality products and services. The company is comprised of five major divisions, including administrative, marketing, finances, sales, and after sales service departments. They employ an array of brilliant young corporate professionals who are very aware of the ins and outs of the international auto trade.
Boasting the necessary ISO9001 certificate required for such companies, Geely is keen on making improvements that will guarantee wider satisfaction among their customers in both China and overseas.
